When a disaster strikes, Houston ToolBank equips nonprofits and volunteers across Southeast Texas with the right tools and equipment to address our community’s needs efficiently and capably. From strategically positioning tools before landfall to immediate emergency response measures, partnering with the Houston ToolBank during natural disasters is simple and free.
Before a Disaster
- Become a Member – Submit the application on our website. Submissions are reviewed within a business day. Contact us if you are unsure of your membership status.
- Review the Inventory – See what’s available to borrow. Contact us if you don’t see what you’re looking for.
- Pre-Order According to Your Plan – Connect with us before disaster strikes if you’re planning on utilizing Houston ToolBank inventory. By communicating early, we can distribute tools before impact so you have immediate access to critical recovery equipment.
After a Disaster
- Place Your Order – Submit your tool orders through TOM as soon as possible.
- Connect With Us – We will be open as soon as the roads are safe after impact. Be sure to confirm we are open before traveling to our warehouse.
- Get Your Tools – Orders can be picked up at our warehouse; at one of our six Neighborhood Tool Hubs located in Beaumont, Houston City Centre, Conroe, Galveston, Richmond, and Simonton; or delivered directly to your door for a fee.

Our inventory is vast and can be used for any of your organization’s projects, from food and water distributions, creating cooling centers for heat relief, mucking and gutting flooded properties, providing electricity to single-family residences, and so much more. When you pre-order your response tools before hurricane season, we will have all your needed supplies ready 3-5 days before expected landfall.
