Mayor’s Proud Partners Awards

The award accepted by Chairman of the ToolBank Board

On November 14, 2019 Keep Houston Beautiful hosted the 35th Mayor’s Proud Partners Awards. That award ceremony spotlighted 19 exceptional projects and programs, supported by businesses, individuals, youth and community groups that have made a positive, lasting impact while giving back to the City of Houston’s environment.

The award ceremony was held at the Hilton Americas hotel and included a delicious brunch breakfast. Second Servings, a fellow member agency of the ToolBank, took the excess prepared food from the ceremony and delivered it promptly and safely to charitable meal providers. This Is one example on how the ceremony hosted and coordinated by Keep Houston Beautiful’s Executive Director, Amy Reed, worked tirelessly to ensure that it exemplified it’s theme with a perfect balance of community and lasting impact stories.

There were many keynote speakers thanking the partner recipients for their work in the community including the Mayor of Houston Himself, Sylvestor Turner.

The City of Houston is blessed to have so many dedicated volunteers, businesses and organizations who are more than willing to devote time and resources to neighborhood cleanups and park beautification to keep Houston beautiful

The Houston ToolBank was honored with an award for our Community Tool Lending Program, which has been servicing community building organizations since 2014. This award is a testament to our dedication to continue to equip our member agencies and their volunteers with the tools they need for rebuilding projects in either blue skies or during disasters. We love being of service to the community and we hope that we can continue to do this. Our member agencies are determined to grow Houston into a beautiful thriving community through their projects and disaster relief efforts. Without them, the ToolBank would just be a warehouse full of tools collecting dust. We love seeing our communities come together to participate in the change we want to see, but to also celebrate each other’s accomplishments.

Thank you guys for allowing us to be able to work as hard as you do!

The awards we present at this celebrated event are a way for us to honor those who truly know what it means to value community. It’s also a way for us to invite others to join us in our mission as we continue to grow as an organization.
