Positive Payload by American Trucks

Community Involvement, Houston Community Toolbank
The Houston ToolBank was selected to receive a small grant from the Positive Payload program, which has donated over $20,000 to nonprofits across the USA since 2017. The program gives to organizations that use trucks to support their day-to-day operations, and we are fortunate to have access to a truck donated by Ford to ToolBank Disaster Services following Hurricane Harvey. This truck has allowed us to make some very important deliveries of tools and donations to nonprofits doing great work across the state, and will always be an asset to TDS. Thanks to Positive Payload and Ford for the ongoing support! To Learn more about Positive Payload, click here.

Blue Tools for the Angel Memorial Garden at Jane Long Elementary

Blue Tools for the Angel Memorial Garden at Jane Long Elementary

Community Involvement, Houston Community Toolbank
On April 27th we were proud to send our Blue Tools to help create a new garden at Jane Long Academy in Sharpstown. The garden was created in memory of Brian Angel, a student at the school.   The school was able to borrow shovels and rakes for the project, which made use of an unused and ugly area on the school grounds. During the project, the students and other volunteers were able to build garden boxes and fill them with soil in preparation for planting. Once it is complete, the garden will have vegetables, citrus trees, fountains, a potting table and concrete benches where students can enjoy the green space. In memory of Brian Angel, there is an angel logo which will be placed in the garden as well.…

After-Hours Facility

Houston Community Toolbank
The Houston Community ToolBank has had our After-Hours Facility for about a year now, thanks to support from the Rebuild Texas Fund. We have found that it is very convenient for many member agencies to pick up and drop off their tools and equipment outside of our business hours. The container has 4 separate rooms to accommodate our member agencies after-hours needs. David Cobb ,an artist and member agent of one of our frequent collaborators, TXRX Labs, decorated our containers. Watch the video below to learn more about the painting project and our after-hours facility. https://youtu.be/3ftZK1Xt5p4

We were given our own table and signs to display the ToolBank's initiative, and explain our mission for the Houston community.
