HOUSTON (FOX 26) – Volunteer coalition seeks to maximize massive Harvey recovery effort
On storm-torn Houston’s near east side you’ll find an “arsenal” in the fight to recover.
“We’ve got pressure washers, generators, shop vacs, pumps. We are lending all of these tools out for free for Harvey relief,” said Erika Hornsey who runs Houston Community ToolBank.

Gallery Furniture presents funds to 4 Houston organizations helping in Harvey recover
Gallery Furniture owner, Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale presented four local organizations with a check Friday at the Gallery Furniture North Freeway location.
The organizations were hand selected by Gallery Furniture for their tireless and continued efforts in helping the Houston community recover in the aftermath of Harvey.
The organizations were Crisis Cleanup, Points of Light, Houston Community ToolBank and TXRX Labs.

This community Toolbank provides tools needed for Harvey relief and recovery efforts, primarily in the demolition of damaged homes. You can donate time, tools or funds to the Toolbank to be distributed out to people effected by the disaster.
The CFA Houston Chapter Board hopes you and your families are out of harm’s way. Our area has experienced significant damage from Hurricane Harvey. We are gathering donation items at our Private Equity Luncheon on September 13 and compiled a list of organizations needing support and items should you wish to make a donation.
Houston nonprofit lends needed tools for Harvey recovery. Nonprofit and first responder groups wanting to help their neighbors in the wake of Harvey can borrow the tools needed to rebuild and repair. The Houston Community Tool Bank is offering its more than 14,000 items for repairs due to the storm.
Donate to These Local Houston Charities. These Houston-based charities know the people they’re helping. #HarveyHmag. This group lends expensive equipment and power tools that will be vital to demolition and recovery efforts.
Stanley CEO Jim Loree, said Tuesday the company will donate $50,000 to the American Red Cross and $25,000 to the Houston ToolBank…Stanley also will donate a set of Dewalt, Stanley and Black+Decker tools and storage systems to the Houston ToolBank.
Sometimes it’s difficult to borrow from a bank to get what you need to succeed, but at the Houston ToolBank, loaning is what they’re all about. As Great Day Houston’s Courtney Perna learns, they’re not talking money, but rather shovels, hammers and drill.
